Galápagos Islands Odyssey 2020

In January 2020, Tumbuh Global hosted an eco-spirituality odyssey, with 21 global citizens from the United States and Canada, to the Galápagos Islands, Ecuador. This odyssey was unique in that it doubled as a book launch for author, activist, and friend, Brian McLaren as well as a eco-spirituality odyssey. Tumbuh Travelers spent one night in Guayaquil before collectively boarding a domestic flight to San Cristobal Island to begin their odyssey. For 8 days and 7 nights, they experienced the beauty of the people and culture and learned about the ecological fragility of the Galápagos Islands. From complex ecosystems underwater to the conservation and protection of endemic animals, the Galápagos Islands taught us about the role we, as humans, must play in preserving planet Earth. With meditations over breakfast and reflections every evening, Tumbuh Travelers were granted special time to sit and learn with Brian McLaren.

As a senior, non-Spanish speaking, first time visitor to South America, I took a leap of faith in joining Tumbuh Global and about 20 other travelers on their odyssey to the Galápagos Islands, Ecuador. It. Was. Amazing! Tumbuh Global arranged for us to get nose to nose with the incomparable creatures, the amazing locations, and the wonderful people of the Galápagos. But, more that that, Tumbuh Gl attended to the mind, body, and spirit of each and every one of the travelers in their charge...  I would trust them to take me anywhere in the world!

We experienced a Tumbuh Odyssey to the Galàpagos in January. What a life-affirming journey with a group of 21 incredible people. Mary and Lindsay were intentional, gifted leaders with the ability to facilitate such a meaningful adventure for our group with varied life experiences.
They had a plan and a backup plan and a guide with a Super-Plan. Their attention to the details of our trip made it so smooth.
The odyssey has profoundly and indelibly touched my life and heart.

I participated in Tumbuh’s Galapagos Odyssey in January 2020. It was fantastic! Lindsay, Mary and our wonderful local guide, Christian, shepherded 21 of us as we explored these amazing islands and seas on foot, on boat, and while snorkeling. We spent time with tortoises, land and marine iguanas, sea lions, blue footed boobies, finches and more. An ongoing blessing is the friendship we created among each and everyone of us.
