About Us
Tumbuh Global, founded in January 2018, is a strategic consulting and educational design firm. Operating at the dynamic intersection of theological education and technology, we build learning ecosystems that demonstrate measurable learning outcomes and also inspire genuine growth—the very meaning of our name, 'tumbuh.'
We move beyond conventional instruction techniques by blending the science of adult learning with the art of effective digital pedagogy. Our approach ensures every program we design is an authentic extension of your institution’s core values: programmatically sound, financially sustainable, and spiritually resonant. The result is a vibrant online community where students, faculty, and staff are equipped, empowered, and inspired to lead.
Tumbuh (‘tomb-boo“) is an Indonesian word meaning “to spring forth, emerge, or grow.” We chose this name for our firm at the prompting of international colleagues who believed that this word most accurately described our work in the world.
Our approach is distinguished by foresight and innovation. Our focus on online learning began long before the COVID-19 pandemic prompted the global shift. This positions us to respond with proven online strategies rather than with reactive and unproven methods. This depth of experience and seasoned field of vision allows us to build innovative, high-quality online programs with intention.
Our strength is built on two complementary pillars of expertise, embodied by our co-founders. This integrated approach ensures our recommendations are not only technologically feasible and creatively compelling but are also grounded in a robust organizational and educational framework.
Co-founder Mary Andreolli brings a rare combination of technical, analytical, and creative vision. An ordained American Baptist minister, Mary has decades of experience in systems integration and religious communications, including serving as the Executive Director of Communications and Fundraising for the General Board of Global Ministries (GBGM) of the United Methodist Church. Holding an MFA in Motion Media Design, a Master of Divinity, and as a Project Management Professional (PMP), she has produced award-winning media and consulted on virtual production workflows with industry leaders, including Epic Games. Mary’s expertise ensures our online solutions are both technologically sound and well executed.
Co-founder Lindsay Andreolli-Comstock provides a deep understanding of organizational strategy and adult curriculum design. As an ordained Alliance of Baptists minister with a Doctor of Ministry in the Advanced Practice of Ministry focusing on adult curriculum design and development, her work is supported by 23 years of executive leadership experience in mission-driven organizations. Her previous work includes serving as Chief Strategy Officer of Convergence (formerly The Center for Progressive Renewal), Executive Director of The Beatitudes Society, and Interim Director of Justice Ministry Education at Auburn Seminary. Lindsay’s expertise is not just theoretical; as president of Tumbuh’s online school and training center, The School of Global Citizenry, she has an unparalleled, firsthand understanding of the strategic decisions required to operate a successful online learning platform for mission-driven audiences.
Together, we provide a holistic perspective that is both innovative and deeply informed by the realities of modern mission-driven work. We don't just design programs; we build resilient learning ecosystems that honor your values and achieve your vision. Our comprehensive services include:
